Class 3 - Miss Woods
Welcome to Class 3
At St John's Chapel Primary School, our children in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6) are taught in Class 3. Our class teacher is Miss Woods.
In Class 3, every child has their own iPad, and we use these regularly every day to support our learning. We also have a laptop available for each child. In our Maths lessons, we use lots of practical resources to help develop our understanding. We love learning in a variety of ways, and we try to take our learning outdoors as much as possible. Every two weeks, we take part in a Forest School session. We learn skills through using tools, lighting and cooking on a fire and going on walks in our local area. This is one of our favourite activities in school.
On a Thursday and Friday, the children from Wearhead Primary join us at St John's Chapel Primary for our Federation Days. On these days, the children take part in lessons that are better with a bigger group of children (such as Science, PSHRE, PE and Computing) and where we can focus more on the Year 5 and 6 content together with the children from Wearhead Primary. In the autumn term, we go swimming each Friday afternoon. Reading is a big part of our class and at the end of each day we read a story.
